Petrarch PlanX Premiere\u2019s in the UK<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Petrarch is pleased to reveal a premiere for the UK market – Petrarch PlanX has been showcased on a first of its kind project – Church Grove.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Church Grove is the capital\u2019s largest, community-led self-build project, coordinated by the Rural Urban Synthesis Society (RUSS).<\/span><\/p>\n

“Community, connectivity and a real sense of place and belonging were the key directives for this unique residential scheme. There is a clear sentiment of a place for everyone with this design intent and we’re so proud to see our Petrarch PlanX implemented on such an uplifting community development.”<\/i> Tom Walker, Sales Director, Petrarch Panels.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>

Church Grove features 36 flats in two linked buildings, a new public riverside garden and shared community spaces. As a Community Land Trust, RUSS aims to create sustainable and permanently affordable homes in a community woven into the wider communities of Lewisham.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Petrarch PlanX reconstituted stone cladding supports the spirit of this development; Rooff and RUSS were keen to utilise upcycled materials and adopt a retrofit approach; Petrarch PlanX go hand-in-hand with this mindset thanks to their composition; manufactured predominantly from crushed marble and stone, and wherever feasible, created from off-cuts of main panel production.<\/p>\n

Here, warm custom shades, emulating terracotta were chosen to bring vibrancy and depth to this unique scheme.<\/p>\n

“This scheme involved close working with RUSS, local residents, self-builders, self-completers and future residents. Rooff, alongside the self-build management team, have supported the self-builders in providing site safety and construction skills training to carry out works in a safe and correct manner. Rooff also offered the self-builders the opportunity to visit Rooff\u2019s plant yard to look through unused\/spare materials and make use of them where possible in their builds.” Rooff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Project Cambridge, ARM Peterhouse Multi-Storey Car Park, United Kingdom<\/span><\/h3>\n

We\u2019re really pleased to reveal this first of its kind Petrarch PlanX project. A unique and eye-catching application which features both our large format Petrarch reconstituted stone rainscreen facade and our sleek Petrarch PlanX, slimline plank.<\/span><\/p>\n

Huber, the name behind the UK\u2019s most innovative car park designs, turned to Petrarch PlanX to realise their new vision for Peterhouse multi-storey car park.<\/span>
\nThis is an excellent example of a non-traditional application.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

501 parking bays –\u00a0The background<\/span><\/h4>\n

HUBER was commissioned to erect this new multi-storey car park at 110 Fulbourne Road, in Peterhouse Technologies Park, Cambridge \u2013 part of the ARM Headquarters estate. With a total of 501 parking bays the facility eases the parking situation at the commercial estate. The MSCP consists of three parking decks, the ground floor and two suspended decks, and is erected in steel frame construction with in-situ reinforced concrete floors cast onto metal liner sheets.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fa\u00e7ades of the structure are clad in Petrarch reconstituted stone panels.<\/span><\/p>\n

These are reconstituted stone panels to render a visually stunning fa\u00e7ade solution which simulates the colour and texture of natural stone. Huber Car Parks<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Given that the second phase features new material, the client was super-impressed with how the old and new blend so well. Given the natural ageing qualities of Petrarch (emulating weathered stone), it makes it ideal in such instances.<\/p>\n

We recently had the pleasure of talking with CFS Nederland\u2019s Director, Michiel Traa, who was very complimentary about our new facade product:<\/p>\n

About CFS & Petrarch Panels<\/h3>\n

CFS Netherlands has been importing Petrarch’s facade panels into the Dutch market since 2008. The reconstituted stone panel is considerably lighter in weight than its natural stone rivals and is therefore so easy to install. Petrarch is a reconstituted stone panel manufactured in the UK, manufactured predominantly by-product natural minerals, such as marble and stone. \u201d The product offers unprecedented design freedom because we can totally customise the aesthetic using custom pigments to provide a completely individual facade panel,” explains Michiel of CFS Netherlands.<\/p>\n

“The sky is the limit with Petrarch, both in terms of colour and texture. What\u2019s more the product is lightweight, does not absorb dirt and moisture and is very easy to clean.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ready-made facade system<\/h3>\n

Petrarch is available in thicknesses of 7 or 10 millimetres and is usually mechanically or adhesive fixed. “We supply the complete facade construction turnkey, including design, calculation and aluminium substructure,” says Michiel. “Everything is organised from the office in Oosterhout, which is very convenient for facade builders.” Architects also appreciate the benefits of Petrarch:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cRecent Netherlands projects finished with Petrarch fa\u00e7ade panels are the Police Station in Bergen op Zoom<\/a> and the Radisson Blu hotel in Bruges<\/a>. Additionally, Petrarch also lends itself ideally to interior applications, as in the Phoenix Hotel in Brussels. The possibilities are endless when it comes to its colour palette too, with a choice of over 1500 shades as well as custom shades. For the police station project in Bergen op Zoom, for example, Van Pelt architects combined four custom colours.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Slangen + Koenis Architecten have been strong advocates of Petrarch for many years, and are extremely proud of their Petrarch PlanX premier.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cInitially, the idea was to use precast concrete for the facade at Het Baken, but in the end we opted for Petrarch PlanX, a much lighter and a cost-effective alternative. “The advantage is that, like the sheet material, we can produce the PlanX in any colours and textures, so the appearance of concrete or brick can be easily emulated, which is exactly what we\u2019ve done here. Petrarch PlanX (only 7mm thick) were supplied in three striking grey shades, resulting in an attractive and varied fa\u00e7ade aesthetic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

A vision brought to life by Jensen & Halstead Ltd, for Novak Construction, this 60,000-square-foot facility is poised to redefine contemporary healthcare environments. Housing 90 state-of-the-art exam, consultation, and procedure rooms, alongside a ground-floor urgent care centre and a 200-space parking structure, the design prioritises both functionality and architectural finesse.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fa\u00e7ade is elegantly enveloped in Petrarch PlanX, a sophisticated slimline reconstituted stone rainscreen panel which features highly durability qualities, blended with \u00a0an exquisite tactile surface, for an end result which is on-point on every level.<\/span><\/p>\n
